The Mikawa Pines come from the Anhui prefecture of Japan.

The tree is around 35 years old and has an excellent nebari and superb trunk shape. The branches had started to grow upwards so I needed to re wire the branches into shape. Working on this pine can be a nightmare as the needles growth is extremely brittle in Shohin Mikawa Pine. The tree is six inches tall.. It is in a Japanese hand made pot.
