From Craig Coussins:
Craig is the author of five
best selling Bonsai Books. As a Bonsai grower of over thirty five
years, he has an eclectic collection of mainly native species. Craig
travels around the world teaching bonsai and gathering material for
his books.. I have been working on his trees for a couple of years
now and maintain the bulk of his collection.

I would of course not recommend
anyone unless I was absolutely sure of their abilities and Peter Foele
has these in abundance.
I asked Peter to come and look after my collection as I am frequently
travelling and find it difficult to maintain a collection. His ability
as a stylist is exceptional. He has been a student of both Danny Use of
Gingko Bonsai Centre and Japanese Master, Sensei Kawabe. Peter brings to
my Bonsai a youthful and energetic feel and his wonderful wiring and
shaping has been extremely beneficial to my collection. One sometimes
becomes a little jaded with ones own Bonsai after a number of years but
Peter has injected a new energy into these old specimens and they
clearly enjoy his administrations. Peter also looks after most of the
Repotting as well and as a young Bonsai Master with actually many years
of experience, my own trees are very well cared for. He recently styled
one of the most famous trees in the UK. one of the last trees styled by
John Yoshio Naka, Big John from his UK tour in 1984.. This venerable 250
year old Scots Pine now looks magnificent and the new pot created
specially for BJ by China Mist sets it off very well. I would recommend
Peter Foele to any collector who would like someone to maintain a
collection or help in looking after a burgeoning collection.

Big John after styling. Keeping to John Naka's original concept, this
tree is allowed to grow out every four years. I have has just styled it
back after this fallow period. It is 48" (122cms) long and is a 250 year
old Yamadori from Scotland that Craig has had since 1980 having been
collected by Jim McCurrach in 1978.

The Rest of the trees that I have worked on include the Slug, a
famous Trident Maple 90cms tall that Craig originally bought from Peter
Adams, Craig's teacher, who had styled this from a stump in 1976.
Craig had for many years, sold it in the late 80's
and then bought it back from a close friend, Pete
Kirkham, a couple of years ago. It needed a
massive restyle as Craig would like-if possible-to bring it back to its
original styling as it forms part of his own logo. Gordon Duffett
created this pot back in 1982 which was eventually matched with the Slug
in 1985.

There are a number of pines in Craig's collection and these are
mainly Yamadori.

The large cascade 400 year old Mugho Pine originally bought from
Salvatore Liporace was recently planted as a semi-cascade reflecting the
pines on Huangshan Mountain in China. We will wire the very vigorous
head into a dome around the end of July 2007.
