List of Bonsai in the Coussins
Bonsai Collection August 2011

On a recent visit to Scotland myself and my wife called in to visit Craig and Svetlana. I had been in contact with him via email and was told that after 40 dedicated years in bonsai he had decided to sell his large collection. I had seen photographs of his garden on his website but to actually step into the garden and be surrounded by so many trees was fabulous. What made it more amazing was that 90% of his trees are Yamadori with some incredibly old specimens which had been worked on and refined over many many years.

I bought a couple of specimen shohin junipers planted in lovely signed Tokoname water glazed pots that Craig acquired at great expense in America. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the trees I bought and at an excellent price, I know I would have paid much more at a bonsai nursery. I also bought a small Suiseki from his extensive collection which he had collected from many of his exotic trips around the world.

Anyone buying from Craig will get show quality trees at very good prices and Craig and Svetlana's wonderful hospitality was the icing on the cake.

The dead wood large jin is attached to the base of the pine to give stability to the tree. The pot was made by Alan Harriman and the glaze reflects the mountains from which this tree came. We call this the Tokugawa and Alan made the three leaf crest of the Tokugawa Iyeasu on each side at the base which acts as additional drainage holes.
