The art of stone appreciation goes back over fifteen hundred years. In China we call the Scholars stones, Gongshi while in Japan it is called Suiseki. In Indonesia Suisok and many other names are used throughout Asia. Suibans are the trays to display your mountain or figure stone . Susieki or Gongshi can also be mounted on a wooden carved stand. Suibans were originally trays. Either plain wood, lacquered wood or stone. Pots without holes were made for these stone arrangements and on China we use marble or reconstituted marble trays for Pentsai, or stone arrangements with plants. We make Suibans in many sizes and to order for our commercial clients.
