 The
large Shishi Gashira Maple was planted as a cutting by a friend, Ken
Shalliker , in1974. I have been working on the refinement for three
years now. The pot is an antique Japanese pot by the 19th century
potter, Yoshimura. I like Shishis and have many from Shohin to medium
sizes and a very large one growing in my garden as a normal tree. I am
experimenting with foliage reduction techniques during 2009 and 2010

South-most trees in this collection are in work all the time. Either

 General
view West- In Scotland the weather tends to pretty wet with better
weather in the earlier part of the year from April to end of May and
then rain until September and hopefully a little better weather to round
our damp year off. |
 Large Chinese
Elm View South. In the background through the maples is a Finnish Bench
Swing for four people with a central table encased in Japanese Style
bamboo fencing. Very nice in the evening for a glass of wine or a coffee
after dinner. There are solar lights throughout the garden subtly
lighting the pathways. |
