Wu Guanzhong was born in
1919. His hometown was Yi Xing, Jiangsu province.
He studied in France
in his early years. In 1950, he came back and taught in central
art
college, Beijing art college and Central Industrial art college. Now he
was a professor in Tsinghua University. He has won the highest
literature and art medal. In 2002, he was
elected lifelong academician
of the art department of France scholar institute, His album
of
paintings and collection of articles have been published at home and
abroad.
We purchased these in China at a local Auction for art in Nanjing. Highly sought after , Wu Guanzhong's paintings are very popular and extremely beautiful. As Chinese people begin to appreciate their own artists , well know and respected artist like Wu Guanzhong will soon begin to rise in price and such paintings will simply not be available at these prices anymore. These will easily sit well in a modern home.
