My garden July 2011
the entire collection is now for sale at £28
thousand pounds including all pots. Euro32000
(The actual retail value is in excess of £75
thousand-Euro86000)

This is a 400 year old Mugho Pine from the
Dolomites. The ancient twisted trunk is natural.
The pot was created for this Bonsai by Alan
Harriman to suggest mountains in the glaze.
The
collection includes a number of large Yamadori
medium size Bonsai and Shohin. Almost every
major style of Bonsai is represented. The Bonsai
have created over the past 40 years by masters
such as John Naka, Peter Adams, Peter Foele,
Gary Marchal, Salvatore Liporace and of course,
Craig Coussins. Interested buyers will need to
come and see the collection. The collection,
built up over 40 years is being sold as one lot
and will not be split. Perfect for someone
wanting to add Bonsai to an existing collection
or starting a Bonsai Nursery.
After 45 years I am retiring from growing
Bonsai and would now like to focus on my Suiseki
and Scrolls business.
In selling this collection
I have worked out a very reasonable price that is well
below market value. The great majority of the Bonsai are
grown from Yamadori, collected material or seed with
less than 5% being imported trees. The Bonsai are in
good shape and form and are maintained on a very regular
basis by myself and, for the past three years, Peter Foele who has worked at Ginko for many years.
I have not yet
photographed every individual tree as there are in excess of
60 Bonsai but as this is a large collection it would always
be better for a buyer to come and view the collection. I can
also arrange your pickup from the airport or train station
and local accommodation.

Craig working on a Larch grove started in 1987
from collected seedlings and featured in his
first book, Bonsai for Beginners. The pot is a
signed pot of great quality and the grove of
five thick trunked trees have been in this
pot since 1988.
The collection is in Scotland. |
