Part of a group of Samurai painting that I have had restored. This is Samurai General Kiyomasa Kato click his name to go to the Samurai pages where you will find extensive articles on the subjects in the Samurai Scroll paintings .

I like scrolls with Eagles and Hawks and I have been fortunate in finding some of these.
Many were just paintings that were meant for scroll but had not been mounted yet or some have been old scrolls that needed the mounts restored and replaced.
TAKA TO OIMATSU Eagle on old pine KANSAI 1950 £225. I really like this painting. Kansai's very powerful image of a raptor that has great presence.

A beautiful study of a Samurai archer on his horse. Very delicate work with great attention to detail. Not a long scroll   this would be perfect for both Bonsai and home di8splay. Samurai on horse  painted by artist Kashu 1950

beauty and happiness , the Crane is loyal and stays with a partner for life and the sea is strong and full of goodness and so successful. to be remounted on new silks and with a new Pawlona Wood Scroll Box £185

Cranes have long been regarded as auspicious birds and the symbol of blessings of longevity.
A Japanese proverb says "a crane lives 1,000 years and a turtle lives 10,000 years". Meaning that you should be happy with what you have  because you are not a crane or a turtle (well in this life anyway)
