Abstract

Paintings by Wu Guanzhong

Wu Guanzhong was born in 1919. His hometown was Yi Xing, Jiangsu province.
He studied in France in his early years. In 1950, he came back and taught in central art college, Beijing art college and Central Industrial art college. Now he was a professor in Tsinghua University. He has won the highest literature and art medal. In 2002, he was elected lifelong academician of the art department of France scholar institute, His album of paintings and collection of articles have been published at home and abroad.

We purchased these in China at a local Auction for art in Nanjing. Highly sought after , Wu Guanzhong's paintings are very popular and extremely beautiful. As Chinese people begin to appreciate their own artists , well know and respected artist like Wu Guanzhong  have already begun to rise in price and such paintings will simply not be available at these prices anymore.

These will easily sit well in a modern home.

However, I have one reservation in how these art works are displayed in a modern home and that is I would also like to see these paintings in a normal wide flat Black Frame as opposed to the scrolls we have used. Its an alternative way of display therefore perhaps you could consider this alternative. Most framing companies will dismount the scrolls and mount into a frame. I considered this alternative for a long time.

In the meantime I have mounted this series of paintings onto silk scrolls.

The two larger scrolls are 48 inches long and 29 inches wide £275

The two smaller scrolls are 36 x 15 inches wide,  £225

All come with specially made silk covered scroll boxes
